Building on a Tradition
The capital campaign which was begun several years ago continues to bear fruit for the Foundation. With years of deferred maintenance to overcome, this fundraising effort has been crucial to making critical updates to our facility. In addition to the Schaefer Boarder Barn that was added, all but one of the show barns has been replaced. Major improvements to the road network at the Preserve have been implemented, and repairs and replacement of electric and plumbing service has been completed. The Board is committed to press ahead with more updates, changes and improvements to the Preserve and the Tate Show Grounds which will help insure the 100 year history of riding and horse shows in Blowing Rock will continue for many years to come.
In addition to completing badly needed improvements to the facility, we continue to evaluate additional land purchases to help assure a long-term future for the growth and expansion of both current and new programs. Additionally, the board intends to continue its commitment to the growing needs of local non-profit emergency healthcare services, educational programs, and animal welfare organizations along with maintaining the horse shows roles as a vital economic force in the High Country.
The Foundation Board of Directors is excited about the future and is ready to face these new challenges and opportunities. As we move forward with these ambitious and exciting dreams, we invite you to join us and consider a financial commitment to the Foundation. Your participation will continue our effort to “Building On a Tradition.”
