Important Preserve Information
The Broyhill Equestrian Preserve is open from the First of May to mid-November.
The primary feature of the Preserve is the 25 mile of Carriage Roads in the beautiful Moses Cone Memorial Park, which lies directly adjacent to the Preserve. The Cone Estate is a major component of the 429-mile Blue Ridge Parkway, a unit of the National Park Service. The Cone Carriage Roads are only open to hikers, runners, cross-country skiers and horses.
The Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show Foundation owns the Broyhill Equestrian Preserve. The annual three weeks of horse shows is the primary fundraiser for the Foundation. In order to host this historic event, now approaching 100 years of continuous operation, the Preserve is closed to overnight stabling and parking during the shows.
The Saddlebred Division of the show arrives in early June for one week each year. Hunters & Jumpers are on site for two weeks toward the end of July and the first of August.
The Preserve does not own, lease horses or offer organized trail rides. However, you, your friends, and your horses are always welcome to stay with us, “Ride the Blue Ridge” and enjoy the unparalleled hospitality of the Blue Ridge.
